--> 2009 Aleatico di Puglia Passito A Mano The Aleatico grapes for the Passito are grown on a vineyard in Gioia del Colle. They are picked in September and allowed to dry for three weeks. After drying, the grapes are crushed and fermented at 23°C. The wine is then aged for about 6 months in large old botti (oak barrels).Deep ruby red in colour with a lovely perfume of dried cherries with a characteristic bitter twist. On the palate it is sweet and luscious, with a rounded, rich dried cherry character. Despite its sweetness, it is not cloying and has an attractive clean finish. Tell a Friend
