| 2006 Madiran Chateau Montus When Alain Brumont purchased Montus in 1979 there were just 12 hectares of vines ; there are now 85! The soil is unlike the rest of Madiran and is closer to that of Chateauneuf du Pape comprising of large galets between 2ft and 6ft in depth over clay. Montus is a blend of 80% Tannat and 20% Cabernet Sau vignon. The wine is aged in oak (20% new) for 12 months. Seriously fine wine that, although good now, is only shadow of what it will become with bottle age. Patience is all! | | |
