A historic South African vineyard dating back to 1756. Meerlust gained its reputation for producing superb Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the ‘70s and ‘80s. With the emergence of Rubicon as the Iconic red from South Africa, best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were used in the production of that blend. Consequently, the last Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in 1993. This recent release is a revalation with cedar aromas on the nose, lots of concentrated deep red fruits and complexity on the palate.
The winemaker is Hannes Myburgh who studied in Germany and at Chateau Lafite.
