2006 Lirac Cuvee Reine des Bois Domaine de la Mordoree

Châteauneuf in all but name, however at a fraction of the price. A blend of 33% Grenache, 33% Mourvedre and 33% Syrah from 40 year old vines. Matured in 30% oak barrels, 30% large oak tonneaux and 40% in stainless steel. Deep dark red in colour, intense fruit aromas reminiscent of blackberries with a hint of dried prunes and coffee. Full bodied with concentrated tannins and a long yet fresh finish. Drink from 7-8 years.
