Dominique Portet is established as a rising star among today's Australian winemakers. His father André Portet, was régisseur (vineyard & winery manager) of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild and Dominique is the ninth generation to be commited to winemaking.
Dominique established Portet in the Yarra Valley in 2000 and produces wonderful boutique wines in small quantities in a unique and old world style. This Cabernet Sauvignon serious stuff, (awarded five stars by James Halliday) and shows great richness, with elegant yet concentrated blackcurrant fruit and silky tannins
