Ordering

There is no minimum order quantity, you are free to order as little or as much as you like. However, do bear in mind that delivery charges may apply (see Deliveries below).

Most orders are shippped within 24 hours of ordering, many on the same day and all orders will be acknowledged via e-mail once they have been submitted.

Privacy/Security

Bennetts Fine Wines holds the highest respect for it's customers and guarantees our firm commitment to your privacy. We do not sell any of the information provided by you to any other organisations. By registering with us and buying wine from us on-line, you will automatically be added to our mailing list, however if at any time you wish to be removed from our e-mail list please send us an e-mail with unsubscribe in the subject line.
As a customer you reserve the right to be concerned about the security of your credit card information. Please be assured that your financial information is sent to us via encrypted data and can therefore not be hacked, received or deciphered by other merchants or anyone with malicious intentions. Bennetts have taken the steps to ensure your security by using the highest levels of encryption security. Please note that no orders will be considered complete until payment has been submitted.

Item Availability

If it's on our web site, it's in stock. The exact number available to purchase is displayed. In most cases, we can order more of certain wines so please do call us. In these cases, there may be a delay while we check with our suppliers in order to locate additional stock. We will do our best to fulfill your order but cannot be held responsible if an item is unobtainable at the time of order. If an item is unavailable, we will call you and apologise and it will be omitted from the final invoice and any applicable delivery charges will be adjusted. We try very hard to maintain "real time" stock quantities, but there may be times that an item is sold in the shop just prior to your order on the internet.

If we do not have the wine that you are looking for, we would be happy to attempt to source it for you. Please note that many ‘special’ orders can only be obtained in case quantities.

Prices

Refunds

If the incorrect wine is delivered we will replace your bottle with the correct wine. We are unable to refund a purchase because you did not like the wine, however if a bottle is corked or damaged please do call us and we will endeavour to replace or refund the bottle.

Legal Ordering Age

Bennetts Fine Wines will not sell to anyone under the legal drinking age of 18 years. We ask for confirmation of this when you order.

Chancellor’s Budget

Bennetts reserves the right to pass on in full any duty changes that may be announced at any time.

Force Majeure

The company will not be liable for failure to meet agreed obligations due to prevailing circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Overseas Orders

We are only able to despatch wine abroad by special arrangement. Please call us and we will be happy to arrange a quote. Any customs taxes/charges are the responsibility of the buyer.

Deliveries

Local delivery for a minimum of one case of wine (12 bottles) is free.
Nationwide UK delivery (excluding Highlands and Islands) to one delivery address when spending £200 or more is free of charge.

Under a £200 spend our normal delivery charges apply which are £6.00 inc VAT per case (12 bottles) with a minimum charge of £12.00.

A signature is required by the carrier upon delivery. If no one is in at the delivery address a card is left requesting that the customer contacts the courier company to arrange re-delivery. If the courier company receives no instructions within three days the parcel is returned to Bennetts Fine Wines. We are able to re-despatch the goods, however this service attracts a re-despatch charge of £18.00.

Claims

Customers are requested to carefully check all goods at the time of delivery. The delivery or carrier’s note should be signed noting any shortages or breakage. We regret we cannot accept claims for shortages or breakages not recorded in this way. In any case claims must be made to Bennetts within three days of delivery.

Bennetts

We take considerable pride in the accuracy and diligence of its employees and will endeavour to satisfy customers requirements wherever possible. So far as the law permits however the company shall not be liable for consequential loss or damage in any respect.

Law

All contracts are governed by English law and jurisdiction.

Title

The goods shall remain the Seller’s property until the Buyer has paid all sums due from it to the Seller. Until that time the Buyer shall hold then as Bailee, store them in such a way that they can be identified as the Seller’s property, and keep them separate from the Buyer’s own property and the property of any other person. Although the goods remain the Seller’s property until paid for, they shall be at the Buyer’s risk from time of delivery and the buyer shall insure them against loss or damage accordingly, and in the event of such loss or damage shall hold the proceeds of such insurance on behalf of the Sellar as trustee for the Sellar. In accepting delivery of the goods the Buyer undertakes to indemnify the Sellar against any losses and expenses incurred by the Sellar, arising from the Buyer’s breach, howsoever caused.
